Guys this week we are talking about drugs and addictions. Sometimes in life we face difficult situations and we do not know how to handle them. There are healthy ways of dealing with these problems and then there are unhealthy ways of dealing with them. Winter Jam 2008 Come Join Us!!!

Come and join us for Winter Jam 2008 at the Roanoke Civic Center. A day filled with concerts, great youth speakers and BMX/Skate Extreme Team don’t miss it. We will be leaving saturday January 12th at 2:30pm from the Zone at 217 W. Depot St. Bedford phone number is 540-586-5470 or 540-425-2021. Bring $10 and money for food at the concert, bring you parents if you are between 12 and 18 so they can sign a permission slip to allow you to go, we will be returning the same night around 10:30 pm for your parents to pick you up. Chili Cookoff 2008 Was A Success!!!!

The Chili Cookoff was fun and exciting. The night started off with Pastor Chris welcoming everybody and thanking everybody who brought Chili and daring to compete against his Chili recipe Sweet Chilpotle Yeehaw! The rules were explained and the Chili was Blessed and than it was off to the tasting. There were 12 different Chili sensations and they were all tasty. After everybody tasted each chili they voted on their favorite. While the votes were being counted the young people between ages 2 and 16 had a shot at busting the Chili Pepper Pinata filled with candy, Jordan obliterated the Pinata. When all of the Counting was complete Jeff’s Chili entered by Pastor Jeff took first place, 2nd place was shared by Ben and Hannah Manley along with Sean and Dominique, and than 3rd place was shared by Sonny Simone and Pastor Chris. All of the money raised went to the Zone to help pay for Winter Jam 2008. I would like to personally thank the Zone staff for a job well done.

Well with the Chili Champ of 2008 crowned we set out to perfect our recipe so next year we will fare better in Chili Cookoff 2009. Be sure to ready your spices, chili peppers and taste buds for next year the first Saturday in January. See you next year!!!!
